Orange Fiber

Microfiber Innovation Challenge Finalist

Sustainable fabrics from citrus juice by-products

Catania, Italy

Your clothing may soon be sourced from the orange groves of southern Italy, thanks to the work of Orange Fiber. The company has patented an innovative process that creates sustainable fabrics from the by-products of citrus juice. The end result is a fabric with a soft and refined feel, with a very limited environmental impact. Their efforts have already caught the attention of some of the fashion industry’s major players, with H&M including ‘citrus fabric' clothing in their 2019 Conscious Exclusive Collection as well as artisan brand E. Marinella creating a limited edition set of ‘citrus fabric' ties.
